Simon Says Stamp | July Card Kit – A Summer Hello

Hello, there! Today is the 14th of the month and that means new subscription card kit from Simon Says Stamp is live! This kit features a funny bikini stamp set, some pretty patterned papers in bright Summer colors and many other fun bits and pieces. I was the most excited to see a bikini stamp – this is something I don’t yet have in my stash and I can see myself using it over and over again for all sorts of funny projects.

CARD DETAILS

I made this into a very simple and quick card. I first stamped the Summer Hello sentiment in black ink and next added a bikini top above it and bikini bottom below it (I simply masked my sentiment when I did the bikini stamping). I used embossing ink and heat embossed the swim suit image in Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder.

I also heat embossed identical image onto one of the patterned paper sheets and cut it out using scissors. I wanted to create the look of texture on the swim suit image, but I didn’t want to do any coloring, so I went with paper piecing instead.

Next, I trimmed another piece of patterned paper to 4 x 5 1/4″ and adhered it onto an A2 top folding card base, foam mounted sentiment panel on top and embellished my card using new Moonshine Confetti Mix included in the kit.
