Simon Says Stamp | July 2020 Card Kit Inspiration – Coloring on Patterned Paper

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have a new handmade card to share, created with Simon Says Stamp July 2020 Card Kit. I really like the stamp set included in the kit this month, Home Sweet Home. I love anything and everything with little buildings and I always get so excited when I color images like these!

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by cutting patterned paper included in the kit in half. I love the size of the paper included – one sheet is enough to make 2 A2 cards (or one slimline card). Next, I pulled out my MISTI stamping tool and Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamped the town image 3 times on my panel going from the bottom up and moving the stamp each time to have a different part of town stamped.

I also stamped some additional images on white cardstock.

Next, I pulled out my bullet nib alcohol markers, I picked markers by Altenew, and colored these images using my blending-free coloring technique. Watch THIS video to learn more about this coloring method. Because my stamping was done on the light color patterned paper I was able to color it using my markers without any problems.

I also colored images I had stamped on white cardstock and cut those out using scissors. I adhered my main panel to A2 white side folding card base and foam mounted the cut-out images on top to add dimension to my card. I also stamped “Thinking of You” banner on pink paper, cut it out and foam mounted over the original banner.

Lastly, I embellished my card using Sea Glass jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
