Simon Says Stamp | Ink Blended Birthday Madness

Hello, friends! I’ve been busy for the past few days with a home improvement project – we are installing new floors, and that had kept me away from the craft room (half of which is in shambles as part of the old floor is already gone). But I managed to find some much-needed crafty time last night and made several cards. Here’s one of them, I call it “ink blended madness”!

CARD DETAILS

I used Simon’s Scene Builder stencil (I have more cards using this stencil HERE and HERE) – the section with 4 different “hills” and ink blended a colorful flower shape. Looks kind of cool, doesn’t it? I used just 4 colors of ink, all from Simon Says Stamp – Sunshine, Jelly Bean, Sea Glass, and Hollyhock. I overlapped each stencil section slightly. The ink was applied using these brushes. They worked perfectly well on the task.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Big Birthday Greetings stamp set in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder. Some of the background ink blending was still wet, so you can see clear embossing powder on parts of the background, as well. I think it looks fun, kind of different, and it adds to the overall artsy look of this card.

I trimmed the panel to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted it onto an A2 white side folding card base. Lastly, I added some Sparkling Clear sequins. Love the result!
