Simon Says Stamp | Ice Cream & Pineapples!

Who doesn’t love ice cream and pineapples? I know I do! Here’s a card I made the other day combining several images from Simon’s Summertime Animals and Adult Beverages sets.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by stamping a bunch of images onto scraps of white paper (I had loads of white paper strips left from cutting and making 4 Bar cards – I keep them for small images like these as I hate them to go to waste). I used coordinating dies and cut the ice creams and pineapples out in my Platinum 6 machine.

To color these I went with Copics and, as always, I used my go-to colors for coloring. Cones and popsicle sticks were colored using E79, E37, E33 and E31, glittery ice cream was colored using hot pinks – RV14, RV13 and RV11 (and after I added Ranger Stickles Glitter Glue turned a more peach than pink colored), glossy ice cream was colored using RV11, RV10 and RV00 and the pineapple was colored using YG17, YG03, Y19, Y15 and Y11.

After arranging my images on a Fog cardstock panel cut to 4 x 5 1/2″ I stamped an umbrella from the Adult Beverages set (I happen to like this umbrella image a ton lately!) making it look like it is coming out from the pineapple and making the latter look like it is a drink. I also added little triangles stamped in between my images (some images were adhered with tape and some were foam mounted).

To create a sentiment for this card I used “Life’s Better In Flip Flops” one from the Block Greetings set. Finally I adhered my panel onto an A2 top folding card base, added glossy accents and stickles glitter to accentuate this project.
