Simon Says Stamp | Happy Holidays Christmas Card

Hello friends! Today I have another classic Christmas card to share all made using stamps and dies. This might be just my favorite card – there’s something about this color combo and the touch of clear stickles (really does look like glistening snow) that make this card special.

CARD DETAILS

I started by making a background first – I white heat embossed a beautiful snowflake background stamp (see in in action on another card here) on light blue cardstock and adhered it onto an A2 white side folding card base.

Next, I started making the focal point for this card – I wanted to use the little images from the Winter Scene stamp set, but I didn’t want to use the rectangle that came with it, but switch it to a circle shape instead. So I reached for my Surf’s Up stamp set from this Summer. I first stamped the house, masked it, added trees and hills behind it (by the way, here I colored them yellow as I wanted them to look like stacks of hay drying after the harvest and not hills). I also masked the 2 latter images and stamped the circle from the Surf’s Up set framing my scene.

I used a handful of Copic markers and did some very basic and quick coloring. I’m not quite sure which colors I used this time, I remember I pulled my B000 and B00 to color the sky. Once my coloring was done and dry I masked the slopes and white heat embossed “Merry Christmas” following the inner circle line in the sky portion of this image. It’s hard to see, but it adds a nice touch to this card.

Lastly, I die-cut the circle out using a coordinating die and foam mounted it on the background. I also white heat embossed a main sentiment, Wishing You The Happiest of Holidays, and added a little holly image to the left. I couldn’t resist using clear stickles to add touches of pure white snow to my scene!
