Happy Summer, everyone! I am currently trying very hard to adjust to the very hot Phoenix weather (it was 121 degrees the other day), spending a lot of time indoors with the AC on and thus doing a ton of stamping! So happy there’s new release from Simon – lots of fabulous goodies to play with!
In case you missed my previous post featuring Simon’s Dancing Fruits stamp set you can find it here, there’s also a quick technique video.
Today I’d like to share two cards using the most hilarious Fingerprint Doodles stamp set. I have one card done in pinks and yellows and one in blues and grays.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping flamingos in black ink. I started at the very top and moved down on my panel stamping a row after row. I tried to keep everything evenly spaced, but since I was just eyeballing my stamping it’s a bit off in a few sections.
Next I picked out a few colors of ink to color my flamingos with the little fingerprint stamps included in this set. I love that there’s more than one fingerprint, there are 5 prints and that makes stamping a multicolor pattern like this much easier. The colors of inks I used are: Sunshine, Stone, Watermelon, Hollyhock and Magnolia. The new, watermelon, color add a nice touch to this card.
I foam mounted my stamped pattern onto an A2 top folding note card (I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″) and added 3 black sentiment strips that read “Be Yourself”. I didn’t want to use any other stamp set to complete this card, so to make the sentiment take more space I stamped it 3 times and foam mounted onto my project. Lastly, I added black enamel dots using Nuvo Drops in black.
Here’s another card I made using this stamp set – I picked out a few animals, enough to fill the entire row and mounted them onto a clear block. Next, I stamped them going from the bottom up – some rows I stamped in full, some left partially blank to be able to include “One Of A Kind” sentiment.
I used Stone, Orange Slush, Sunshine and Deep Sea to “color” my critters, added a white heat embossed sentiment and black enamel dots.

I’ve been struggling to find a technique to use with some of my solid stamps – your multicolor shading technique is PERFECT – I cannot WAIT to try it !! I’ve used just single colors for a few cards, which is great – but gets old fast. This really opens up the possibilities… great idea, and thanks for the video! It was short, to-the-point, and extremely helpful – particularly the different colored shading examples. LOVE!
So fun! Love those flamingos! Darling cards!
Wonderful cards!
Ok I love them all but the multi coloured stamping on the fruits cards are awesome!!!
Love the stamping technique video on multi colored stamping. I’ve got to stop being afraid of mixing colors and this video inspired me. Thanks so much.
Love this! I hadn’t thought of using them to make a background, and I think it’s fabulous!
Great video! It was very interesting to see how you restamped the solid stamps to blend the images. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I do enjoy using stencil now than ever before since I have some Nuvo mousse in my stash.
I like using stencils with texture paste! This release has a lot of great products – thanks for sharing your inspiration! As always, great cards!

Cute cards! Yes I do enjoy using stencils.
Great cards! They are so fun & playful. The card with all of the images was a great display of some of the animals that I haven’t seen used yet. Jil

Great cards. I love using stencils with distress inks the most.
Your two cards are really awesome !
Love these cards, this stamp set has very quickly become my favorite of the new releases. I do use stencils a lot, mostly in my mixed media projects.
I really like both of your cards! They are super cute and I love the colors you chose.
I love the blue and grey one the best, love the layout of it. Wish I had the money to have a play with some of these new products will just have to wait and keep researching 🙂
LOVE these cards!
I love the bright colors you use 🙂 i use stencils in my mix media work, can never have to many
These are the cutest cards! I love stencils. I like using them with some sort of paste or gel for the texture.
Stencils are relatively new to me, but they are so fun!
I love your two takes on repeat stamping. The fingerprint sketches is my favourite in this release, and I am lovin’ it even more after seeing your samples!
I agree that the last card is ok…but not as special as first two. I really like the addition of black nuvo drops to the cards. It rearly makes the colors POP..
Cute cards, thanks for sharing! I love working with stencils. Lately, my favorite technique has been applying multiple layers of embossing powder to really make my sentiments pop and add some dimension.
I love your creativity! I’ve never used stencils before. I have one, just not sure of how to use it.
I enjoy using stencils, but I would like some more to play around with. Thank you for sharing.
Really cute card. Love this set!
I love these finger print stamps. Soo cute
So cute!
Fabulous cards! Looking forward to getting these stamps.
Those fingerprint stamps are so adorable and yours are no exception. I remember going to a birthday party when a guy did this with all of the kids fingerprints making animals and other things. Thanks for showing us your nice cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I can’t wait to win!
I have to agree the Lemon card is awesome, but so are the others.
Awesome creations. Love the flamingos.
So cute, love the images and the fingerprints to colour them. Also like how the flamingo’s legs make the number 4.
Hi Yana, I love stencils! I use embossing paste and I just learned a new technique with transfer gel. Let dry and foil. Beautiful results. Love your work. Thanks for sharing!
