Happy Summer, everyone! I am currently trying very hard to adjust to the very hot Phoenix weather (it was 121 degrees the other day), spending a lot of time indoors with the AC on and thus doing a ton of stamping! So happy there’s new release from Simon – lots of fabulous goodies to play with!
In case you missed my previous post featuring Simon’s Dancing Fruits stamp set you can find it here, there’s also a quick technique video.
Today I’d like to share two cards using the most hilarious Fingerprint Doodles stamp set. I have one card done in pinks and yellows and one in blues and grays.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping flamingos in black ink. I started at the very top and moved down on my panel stamping a row after row. I tried to keep everything evenly spaced, but since I was just eyeballing my stamping it’s a bit off in a few sections.
Next I picked out a few colors of ink to color my flamingos with the little fingerprint stamps included in this set. I love that there’s more than one fingerprint, there are 5 prints and that makes stamping a multicolor pattern like this much easier. The colors of inks I used are: Sunshine, Stone, Watermelon, Hollyhock and Magnolia. The new, watermelon, color add a nice touch to this card.
I foam mounted my stamped pattern onto an A2 top folding note card (I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″) and added 3 black sentiment strips that read “Be Yourself”. I didn’t want to use any other stamp set to complete this card, so to make the sentiment take more space I stamped it 3 times and foam mounted onto my project. Lastly, I added black enamel dots using Nuvo Drops in black.
Here’s another card I made using this stamp set – I picked out a few animals, enough to fill the entire row and mounted them onto a clear block. Next, I stamped them going from the bottom up – some rows I stamped in full, some left partially blank to be able to include “One Of A Kind” sentiment.
I used Stone, Orange Slush, Sunshine and Deep Sea to “color” my critters, added a white heat embossed sentiment and black enamel dots.

Love your backgrounds with these cute stamps.
I love these cards, especially the flamingos!
Fun cards! This stamp set is adorable. I haven’t used stencils very much but I think I’d like to try more. There are such nice ones available these days.
I didn’t think the thumbprint stamps were for a senior citizen like myself but thanks to this blog hop, I am seeing it in a new way. You are so talented!
The fingerprint doodle stamp set is a favorite of mine from this release and your cards are adorable. Love the card using the stencil as well!
My kiddos REALLY need that FINGERPRINT DOODLES set for the hot SUMMER days!!

These cute finger animals are just to die for, gorgeous cards, once again!
There are some really cute stamps in this release! I really like the flamingos and the fruit cards are fantastic! You always do an amazing job!
I like the background using the fingerprint stamps and think that what makes it work well is choosing a nice set of colors. That is what I don’t do, as I just go for it and have too many colors. This stamp set would be a perfect way to practice controlling my use of colors. Thanks for your inspiration!
These doodles are so much fun. Looks like it takes a bit of time, though. Bet you move quickly!
I LOVE the fingerprint critters and your adorable cards done with them!!!
I think the cards are so adorable – initially I thought these stamps were really more youth related but the more samples I see with them, the more I can see other ways to use them. Thanks for the inspiration!
Super cute! Thank you for sharing your ideas. 🙂
Great cards!! I do love your fruit cards the most…especially the one where you layered several colors on each solid stamp…it looks awesome!!
I love the cards! Especially the flamingos. I also really like air conditioning– a whole lot. But I would rather deal with desert 100 than muggy 88. (Not trying to minimize your pain, just sweltering in SC
Super cute cards, I love the flamingos.
I’ve just started trying to use stencils more, I love them for a pop of color and texture on a background.
Yes! I love to use stencils but only when I remember I have them!! Your cards are just too cute!!
Love these cards Yana…they are so artistic! I just ordered some stencils from SSS for the first time. Would love to see some stencil techniques from you…so I will be all ready when my package comes!!
Great cards Yana! Love the colors you used. You have such a talent for putting the right colors together! This stamp set is so unique and fun! The dancing fruits are pretty awesome. Love your cards 🙂
Teehee – what a fun and versatile set the “doodle” set it, and your cards are terrific! I was just reading how hot it is in Arizona – sounds like you have the best plan though 😀
