Happy Summer, everyone! I am currently trying very hard to adjust to the very hot Phoenix weather (it was 121 degrees the other day), spending a lot of time indoors with the AC on and thus doing a ton of stamping! So happy there’s new release from Simon – lots of fabulous goodies to play with!
In case you missed my previous post featuring Simon’s Dancing Fruits stamp set you can find it here, there’s also a quick technique video.
Today I’d like to share two cards using the most hilarious Fingerprint Doodles stamp set. I have one card done in pinks and yellows and one in blues and grays.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping flamingos in black ink. I started at the very top and moved down on my panel stamping a row after row. I tried to keep everything evenly spaced, but since I was just eyeballing my stamping it’s a bit off in a few sections.
Next I picked out a few colors of ink to color my flamingos with the little fingerprint stamps included in this set. I love that there’s more than one fingerprint, there are 5 prints and that makes stamping a multicolor pattern like this much easier. The colors of inks I used are: Sunshine, Stone, Watermelon, Hollyhock and Magnolia. The new, watermelon, color add a nice touch to this card.
I foam mounted my stamped pattern onto an A2 top folding note card (I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″) and added 3 black sentiment strips that read “Be Yourself”. I didn’t want to use any other stamp set to complete this card, so to make the sentiment take more space I stamped it 3 times and foam mounted onto my project. Lastly, I added black enamel dots using Nuvo Drops in black.
Here’s another card I made using this stamp set – I picked out a few animals, enough to fill the entire row and mounted them onto a clear block. Next, I stamped them going from the bottom up – some rows I stamped in full, some left partially blank to be able to include “One Of A Kind” sentiment.
I used Stone, Orange Slush, Sunshine and Deep Sea to “color” my critters, added a white heat embossed sentiment and black enamel dots.

Love those sweet doodle animals! Yes, I use stencils, but not very often. I’ve started pulling mine out more and more because of the great examples I’ve seen lately.
I use stencils occasionally but I would love to use them more. SSS has such beautiful stencils. I need practice! Thanks for the fun cards!
Enjoy the thumb print stamped critters. Like the solid color stamping of the fruit with sentiments.

I have been using stencils more recently and I really like the ease of using stencil brushes with them. These fingerprint stamps are super cute. Thanks for the inspiration.
The flamingo card is fabulous. Thanks for sharing your artwork!
Hi, Yana! Those fingerprint doodles are something else! Cute cards! I like stencils, but really haven’t used them much, but I’m being inspired more and more to give them another try. Thanks!
Thanks for showing how to use varigated stamping to show depth on fruit. Simple yet very pretty.
Your work is fabulous. I Love that you took the fingerprint stamps and elevated the look, they’re not just cutesy – Not that I don’t like cute stuff, but it’s always cool to see something used differently.
Your cards are great ! My favourite is the flamingo one; the 3 same sentiment strips are super !
I have some stencils, but so far didn’t use them… =o\ I should give them a try !
Summergreetings from Belgium.
These little animals are so cute and love what you have made with them. I love using stencils mainly with distress inks – so quick and easy to create wonderful backgrounds:)
Really nice cards. I like that you used the sentiment 3 times on the first card.
So creative!!
Love your color choices! I probably use stencils more then stamps actually! The ability to use paint, ink, markers, texture/ embossing paste etcthrough stencils makes them the “go to” for versatility.
Those finger doodles are too cute! Love stencils with embossing pastes.
I LOVE stencils-ink blending/ texture paste. Super cute designs!!!!
I do like using stencils. First because they are inexpensive, but also because there are so many different things you can do with them. My favorite technique is using a stencil that has a lot of open space, and then using a smaller patterned stencil on top of it. Your cards are beautiful as always.
Love the cards Yana!!
How about Layered colored inking for the technique?? but I think Multi-colored inking is a good description 😀 TFS I LOVE this set ….tfs!
Your cards are wonderful! I do enjoy using stencils, there are so many ways to use them.
How adorable those little fingerprint cards are.
I love that fingerfprint set, it is adorable. I do use stencils and my favorite technique is sponging. Your cards are cute as can be.
I love the multicolor stamping technique. I’m not using it often enough. Yes I like using stencils, particularly with texture paste.
Your cards are adorable and I love the fingerprint doodle set! I use stencils now and then with distress inks and love the look. I recently bought some embossing paste and can’t wait to try it with some of my stencils. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!
Loving the fingerprint set. I like how you added the sentiments in different ways on each of your cards. I don’t use stencils often as I create mostly at crops and find them a bit messy to work with.
These fingerprint stamps are such a great idea. They can be a keepsake from younger children.
those little thumbprint critters are so fun stamped all in a row – love both of your ideas – i love the look stencils give a background and use them quite often.
Cute little animals, FUN cards! I am beginning to use stencils a little and am enjoying them. I really love watercolor backgrounds.
Cute cards, love the designs of them
I love stencils because of the many things you can do with them. Ink blending is amazing but the other day I used some Nuvo Glitter Paste for the first time with a stencil and OMGosh I loved the result! Sparkly polka dots all over!
I love the thumbprint cards, they’re super cute! I like the creativity in the layout design and the color combinations.
Really loving the thumbprint set and your cards using them. Thanks for the video..
Love the blended colors on the fruits. Thanks for sharing
Such great cards Yana using the Thumbprint set. Whats not to love about this release! Believe it or not, I have only recently got my first stencil. I KNOW! Shocking! I have been wanting to try some things using them for some time. I am anxious to try using embossing paste and sprinkling glitter over it before it dries to make a sparkly background. Wish me luck!
such cute fingerprint doodle stamps! & yes, I enjoy using stencils.
cute cards. I am not usually a “cutesy” person, but those little fingerprint animals are adorable. love them used as backgrounds, I do that a lot. I love using stencils as I do a lot of mixed media type of art projects.
Love both these cards! You never cease to amaze me with your endless creativity. The layouts with the thumbprint stamps are so wonderful and beautiful!
Cards are so cute! I have not used stencils but you inspire me to try them!
I use stencils, but only more recently. I’ve had them for years, but always forgot about them. Now with all the sponging and pastes I am loving them.
Been following your blog for a while now and your cards always amaze me! These are adorable!
Doh! I just got why the fingerprints go with “One of a Kind” and “Be Yourself.” I’m a bit slow on the uptake! Cute cards!
gorgeous idea!!! love those flamingoes!
Very colorful and playful 🙂 . Thank you for sharing!
super cute cards Yana! I enjoy stencils! My fave technique so far has been inking the wrong side, spritzing it w/water and inking a piece of wc paper with it.
those doodles are so fun!
So much inspiration and love the fruit stamps too , this collection has so many different styles and choice there really is something for everyone and to create for everyone too, thanks for sharing.
this is my favorite set of the release – so cute! love your cards using them 🙂
Love the cards. No, I don’t have any stencils.
I love the different colored flamingos with the be yourself sentiment.
Love this release, especially the fingerprint stamps! So fun!
Fun cards Yana! I love the colour combos you chose to use with these cute doodle stamps. I love using stencils especially with texture paste. Recently I got some of the nuvo mousses and glitter pastes, and I’m enjoying experimenting with them for some beautiful sparkly and shiny effects.
This set is so cute. I love the flamingos , such a great card!
