I haven’t done masking in a long time. To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of masking, I don’t really like all of the fussy cutting, but masking is a fabulous technique and one to try from time to time. The key to success when it comes to masking is a good masking paper. I like to use specialty masking paper, but sometimes even a post-it note will do the job.

I created 3 umbrella masks for this card and stamped the umbrella background one by one moving from the bottom up. Next, I colored the umbrellas in various shades of green, teal, pink and yellow. I used a single Copic marker for each color, without any shading.
Next, I stamped the raindrops and lines mimicking rainfall directly onto the background and heat embossed a sentiment in white embossing powder on black cardstock. This card is very simple, but that masked background adds some wow. I think I should try and do masking more often.
Thank you for stopping by today. In other news – we are okay. I try to stay off the news, to keep my sanity, but it isn’t an easy task. I just read the latest reports before editing this card and all I can say is I am glad and thankful that I have cardmaking in my life. Big hugs to you all!

Yana, thank you for revisiting this stamp set. I used it recently with the wave builder stamp from SSS as a background. I love that you come up with multiple ideas to use existing stamps. I always look forward to your posts. Hope you are well and safe.
This is so cool
Hi Yana, glad you’re both still okay. Can’t imagine how you’re keeping your sanity, but sometimes there is no other choice! I see you used the SSS Mega Thick 130 lb. cardstock. Was this because you were using Copic markers? I really enjoy seeing your creations and appreciate all the tips and explanations you offer with them.
Try to stay safe and well!
Create, lovely card Yana. Glad to see your post and that you are ok. Prayers for your safety and Freedom for Ukraine.
Yana, your cards & blog posts always inspire me. I sit here at home with stress & then you pop up & cheer me up & remind me that a lot have it far worse than I do. Stay safe & healthy xx
Yana, you inspire me in many ways…your creativity has inspired me for years…your posts are always (even now!) uplifting and fun…but your bravery probably hits me the most – I admire your steady ‘pushing ahead’ with your creativity in the midst of this most horrible situation (I can’t even imagine) and your and Oles’s work supporting your troops, community, and country! (God Bless Denzil) We watch too much of the news, I think…how could it not be depressing!, and it is so hard but it reminds us to pray harder! We are from USA and one of the ‘news’ we appreciate most is Denys Davydov posts and updates. I am glad you have moments to create and step back from the sadness and horribleness and go for coffee, and enjoy tulips, and see your mom! That is good and revives you to keep pressing on for Victory!♥ With prayers and a Hug!…
I just love umbrellas, and I love how you’ve used this stamp set to create a new look different from it’s original design. An amazing idea! I’ve been so inspired your beautiful designs, and recently I have been able to make some lovely Yana inspired cards I’m so delighted with. I, too, have had to stay away from the news lately. So I understand. I know your cheerful colors and card designs always brighten my day…I hope you get as much enjoyment out of creating them, as we all do in viewing them! Sending you a big hug! Xoxo
Beautiful background. I live in Washington state in the U.S. and am always looking for great ideas for cards related to rain. Thanks for the inspiration. We are praying for the Ukraine.
so fun and cute
