Hello, friends! A few years back I had “Inspired by Pinterest” video series on my blog and Youtube channel. I would look for inspiration on Pinterest, turn it into a card and film a video of the process. I’ve long since retired that series, but I still keep an “Inspiration and Color” board on Pinterest (feel free to follow) where I save images I feel are inspiring and could translate into a great card design.

Truth be told I haven’t used that board very actively, but as I was cleaning it up a few days ago I promised myself I would try to make cards based on the pictures I have saved in there (and later delete those I’ve used for inspiration and save new ones). Today I’d like to share a card with colorful blooms. I’m sharing my inspiration photo below.
CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by picking out a few colors of cardstock. I went with Lemon, Sunshine, Cotton Candy, Doll Pink, Sea Glass, Audrey Blue and Soft Navy. All of these colors are from Simon and work beautifully together. After I had my colors picked I selected several floral dies from the Hope Blooms set and cut them out (I didn’t use the largest and skipped smallest florals).
With the Hope Blooms stamp set you can stamp the outline and the detail or you can go with either. I stamped just the details for my flowers and added circular flower centers to some. Since I already had a lot of color I went with black ink for my stamping.
This handmade card uses Nuvo Drops as a background element. Want to see 4 other ways you can use Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios in card making? Check out this article – 5 Ways to Use Nuvo Drops.
Next, I arranged my flowers on a white cardstock panel cut to 4 x 5 1/4″, I alternated floral shapes and placed images in clusters. I foam mounted all in place and added a simple stamped sentiment – Love That We’re Friends from the You + Me set.
Finally, I foam mounted my floral panel onto an A2 card base and added matching colored details using Nuvo Drops. It was rather easy to pick coordinating colors for my images (I’m listing all of them in the “supplies” section below). Love the way this turned out!
