CARD DETAILS
I love the big Outline Christmas Bulb background stamp. It makes creating a fun card background an easy and enjoyable task. The minute I saw it I fell in love with the design because it reminded me of a card I shared last year – Calligraphy-like Christmas Cards where I used a single bulb image to create a partial background for a card. I’m really looking forward to trying this background in the same colors – gold and deep blue with just a hint of shimmer.
For the card I’m sharing today I heat embossed the background in Antique Gold embossing powder on Sea Glass cardstock. I picked a light blue background as I prefer to have colored backgrounds for my cards and I often tend to stay away from plain white.
I used several Copic markers to color the bulbs green and red. The colors are used are YG03, G94, G99; R22, R24, R27, R39; C5, C7, C9. I can’t say I did anything special in terms of coloring, just added some shading around the edges and kept the center lightest.
To create a sentiment for this card I heat embossed “Wishing You A Merry & Bright Christmas” in the same color embossing powder on the same color cardstock and foam mounted on my colored background. The background was trimmed down just a bit and adhered to an A2 white side folding card base revealing just a hint of white border around it.
Finally, I used my Tonic Studios shimmer pen (I love it!) to add a generous amount of shimmer to each of the bulbs and coated select bulbs with glossy accents. My plan was to coat all of them, but I actually run out of glossy. Those that have been coated look a lot more vibrant on the card. I do like that not every bulb was coated providing a difference in color.

Your coloring of the bulbs is gorgeous!
Love the card with the bulbs, very dramatic and lovely. Checked out your other video and they are stunning, for sure!
Beautiful cards!
Love all 3 cards – beautiful coloring on the lights & love the gold embossing on the Merry cards!
I like the green card because you can see the background better, but I love the red one too.
Love this card! When I saw this stamp I knew it would make for some gorgeous colouring but wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. You make it look effortless!
Great card! When I first saw it, I thought you colored the bulbs with pencils!! And using the glossy accents really adds a lot. Thanks, Yana. (Just got back from an annual event called Tucson Meet Yourself where people from all the different cultures living in Tucson set up food and folk art booths. Got to meet some people from Ukraine now living here and a nice man talked me through how he decorates eggs. I think he called it “lettering”(?). Had some desert from Ukraine (gosh so good) and learned a bit about the country. Great fun!!)
Love the Christmas light stamp and your card is gorgeous!
Love the bulbs card! Adding the shimmer and glossy accents really brings them to life! The Merry cards are beautiful too!
Love the colors on the Christmas bulbs. The glossy really adds to the card.
Love the colored lights. I feel like I could pick one up right off the front of the card. The Vertical Merry is one of my favorites too.
Did my last comment save? I want to make sure and let you know how great I think your cards are. I like the green background better also.
Fantastic cards Yana! Absolutely wonderful.
I love seeing all the new product and the fun things that can be made with them. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yana, Your cards are always beautiful!
Your coloring is amazing
Fun card!
The bulbs were striking but your vertical Merry …! Love both. Like the green better (by a little) than the red, good call to not use the shiny backgrounds although they are gorgeous — maybe a large white (plain) snowflake.
Very classy card! & like you I prefer the green.
I love the results, but this had to be very time consuming! I’d like to see ideas on how to use this background that don’t take hours to color. If I had the time or patience I would love to do this as it is truly beautiful!
Beautiful cards!
Yana, I love your card and the two extra ones. All are so crisp and beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
Your creations are always such inspiration. Thank you Yana!

Love your arc!
The Christmas bulb background is wonderful! Great cards!
I love this bulb background stamp. Even though you stated that you ran out of glossy accents, it was genius. It brings the glossy bulbs to the forfront of the card. Thanks for sharing.
I love the colors for the bulbs. Very bright and cheerful!
These bulbs look so realistic. Awesome work on your coloring!
Yana, I am so excited to get the Outline Christmas Bulb stamp, so many options. I am pleased that so many different ideas have been presented by this blog hop. I love both of your cards and appreciate the Leaf background stamp with the matching Leaf border stamp, so pretty.
