CARD DETAILS
I love the big Outline Christmas Bulb background stamp. It makes creating a fun card background an easy and enjoyable task. The minute I saw it I fell in love with the design because it reminded me of a card I shared last year – Calligraphy-like Christmas Cards where I used a single bulb image to create a partial background for a card. I’m really looking forward to trying this background in the same colors – gold and deep blue with just a hint of shimmer.
For the card I’m sharing today I heat embossed the background in Antique Gold embossing powder on Sea Glass cardstock. I picked a light blue background as I prefer to have colored backgrounds for my cards and I often tend to stay away from plain white.
I used several Copic markers to color the bulbs green and red. The colors are used are YG03, G94, G99; R22, R24, R27, R39; C5, C7, C9. I can’t say I did anything special in terms of coloring, just added some shading around the edges and kept the center lightest.
To create a sentiment for this card I heat embossed “Wishing You A Merry & Bright Christmas” in the same color embossing powder on the same color cardstock and foam mounted on my colored background. The background was trimmed down just a bit and adhered to an A2 white side folding card base revealing just a hint of white border around it.
Finally, I used my Tonic Studios shimmer pen (I love it!) to add a generous amount of shimmer to each of the bulbs and coated select bulbs with glossy accents. My plan was to coat all of them, but I actually run out of glossy. Those that have been coated look a lot more vibrant on the card. I do like that not every bulb was coated providing a difference in color.
