We’ve had some truly nice sunny weather lately and with all of that warmth and sunshine, I couldn’t help but dream of spending some time at the beach. I’m not one to particularly enjoy beach vacations, I get bored very easily, but I do dream of one these days.
With the war raging in Ukraine men are forbidden to travel outside the country (with some exceptions), so we can’t go on holiday abroad as a family. Things are relatively calm here in the west of the country, although there is another air raid siren sounding at the moment. While I can’t plan a proper Summer holiday, I can certainly dream and create one on paper! My today’s card is just that – a lovely day at the beach!

CARD DETAILS
I stamped the chair from the Seas & Greetings stamp set on white cardstock, colored it using Copics (E31, E33, E37, R20, R22, R24), and cut it out using a coordinating die. I had to use my craft knife to do some additional cutting as the die just cuts the silhouette out, it doesn’t cut the little details.
Next, I stamped a beach umbrella directly onto the card background and colored it using the same marker colors. I used Copics to set the scene – I added a yellow sand section with Y08 and Y17 markers and a blue sky & sea with B00 and B02 markers. Next, I foam mounted the chair over the scene and stamped the “Let’s Plan a Beach Day” sentiment. I used a white pen and added waves to the sea section and detail to the sand section as well as highlights to the umbrella and chair. I trimmed this panel to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted it onto an A2 white card base.
I’m ready for my imaginary vacation!

Beautiful! I’ve made a note of your sand colors, because they’re brighter than I usually use and look so happy. And much brighter than here on our Washington State beaches! I think about you every day and just sent another donation to Denzil.
Really lovely … I hope you get to see some days like this soon
Hi, Yana – Sending you beachy wishes and seaside vibes. I continue to pray for you. Hugs,

Dear Yana, how you stay so positive in such dark times is admirable and inspiring. Your beach themed holiday card is just perfect to brighten anyone’s day. I arrived at your blog from Pinterest, as I saw your paint brush and palette shaped cards. Delightful! Sending you the warmest wishes and continued prayers for this war to end soon.
