CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping apples onto a white cardstock panel. At first, I wanted to stamp rows of apples, but changed my mind and stamped them randomly. I did however make sure to not rotate the image at all as I was doing my stamping.
I used Intense Black ink by Simon for my stamping (this is alcohol marker) friendly ink and colored apples and everything else on my card using Copic markers. I used YG67, YG17 and YG25 colors. I added a light gray shadow to each using a C1 marker, a white highlight using a white pen and some shimmer using Tonic Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen. Finally, I coated each apple with glossy accents to make it dimensional and glossy looking.
I also stamped, colored and die-cut a stack of books. Here I again used greens (same as I did to color the apples), pinks (RV14, RV13 and RV11) and browns (E79, E37 and E33).
I wanted to top the books with something, so I stamped, colored and die-cut a little vase and a rose. I use B00 and B000 to color vase. Rose was colored same colors as before. I adhere the rose onto the vase (I added a layer of glossy accents onto the vase after I took this photo), and affixed vase on the stack of books.
I cut out a panel out of vellum and foam mounted book stack along with the vase on top. I added “You’re an A+ in my book” sentiment heat embossed in white onto black cardstock and adhered it onto the vellum. Finally, I foam mounted vellum panel onto the background panel (I trimmed it to 4 x 5 1/4″ and adhered onto an A2 card base) and embellished my card with a few jewels.
