CARD DETAILS
I started working on this project by heat embossing leaves in Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. Antique Gold is the perfect color to use for Fall and Arches watercolor paper is always my first choice of paper when it comes to anything watercolor.
I heat embossed 3-4 of each leaf image and cut all out using coordinating dies in my Platinum die cutting machine. Since these images aren’t too big I was able to utilize my watercolor scraps – so a win-win in my book!
I went with my Daniel Smith watercolors (see this post to read more about my favorite watercolor colors) and colored these using Quinacridone Gold, Deep Quinacridone Gold, Pyrrol Red and Sap Green.
It turns out I do not own any orange colors in my watercolor palette so I created orange by mixing yellow and red. I also have hints of light brown color present on these – I didn’t use any brown color but rather mixed red and green to create it.

To create a sentiment for this card I went with an older stamp set – Giving Thanks and heat embossed same message in Antique Gold embossing powder onto a piece of white cardstock cut into a circle shape. Next, I arranged leaves to form a wreath around the sentiment and adhered the one by one using glue.
I foam mounted my fall wreath onto an A2 side folding card base (I covered the front of my card with Wood Grain paper), added a simple twine bow and embellished my wreath using Metallic Gold Confetti – I think I might be addicted to these now, and truth be told I prefer this confetti over sequins. Pretty Pink Posh also has them in Silver and White.
