If you love Spellbinders dies as much as I do, I’m sure you’ve heard about their Create A Flower Line of dies. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about it at first (simply because I’m no flower enthusiast) but after I gave it a try I was totally hooked! I’ve had the chance to play with quite a few of their flower dies and I love them all!
Today I’d like to share a video tutorial I created for the Spellbinders Youtube channel showing how you can easily make a paper orchid.

It doesn’t take more than 3-5 minutes to make one flower, maybe even less. You need to cut one of each petals and as many leaves as you like. It might take you a minute or two longer if you decide to add highlights or shading to the petals.
The size of the finished flower is not too big, about 2 – 3 inches, but I find it to be a perfect size for cards or gift toppers. You can even use those to create a faux orchid plant.
I created some of the orchids you see in this post using white cardstock and some using Hero Arts Layering Papers. I added highlights to some and left others as is simply to show you the difference. Each of the flowers was embellished using a Lavender pearl from Want2Scrap.
I created these flowers without the leaves, but there are two leaf dies in the set which can be used to die cut leaves out of green cardstock.

I used the orchids to embellish a jewelry stand. I got this little piece as a gift years ago and I decided to give it a little make over. I used Martha Stewart Pearl paints and painted it to match the colors of my orchids. Next I adhered several paper orchids onto the dress and the dress stand, added a beautiful paper butterfly to the back and embellished the side using Want2Scrap gems:
These are SO STUNNING Yana! They look real!
thank you, Nina-Marie!
