Modern Birdhouses Cards with Vicky P. Birdhouses Through the Seasons Collection | Video

Hello, crafters! I am thrilled to share several modern cards featuring a new die collection by my friend Vicky P. with Spellbinders. This year Spellbinders has teamed up with some fantastic designers and cardmakers to bring you unique influencer collections. And Vicky’s collection is one of them.

This collection is called Birdhouses through the Seasons and it features 4 different birdhouses die sets, each designed to work for a different season – summer, fall, winter, and spring. There is also a set of birds and a set of sentiment stamps – so you have everything you need to make the Seasonal Birdhouse cards. It is a very clever collection and it is very well designed, too.

I have a slightly different approach to these products, my cards use the birdhouses in a different way. I wanted to make floral birdhouses for Birthday and Thank you cards. These are the types of cards I seem to always lack in my card stash and I always have the most need for them. And I know everyone loves flowers, plus I am kind of obsessed with the Spellbinders’ new floral dies, so I wanted to pair the birdhouses with the floral dies, then add some simple foiled sentiments and a dark dramatic background.

CARD DETAILS

I used a different birdhouse die set for each of my cards – Fall (for the card below), Winter (for the card with yellow flowers), and Spring (for the card with pink flowers) and paired it with pretty flowers from 2 floral die sets – Mini Blooms & Sprigs and Simply Perfect Layered Blooms.

I also added foiled sentiments using plates from 2 different sets – Scalloped Rectangle Glimmer Essentials Set with Sentiments and Mini Everyday Sentiments set. My foiling was don in Copper foil.

Vicky’s collection was an absolute delight to work with. I am looking forward to using her Summer Birdhouse die to make several Lighthouse cards – these dies are just too cute to resist!
