MFT Stamps | Dachshunds Christmas Cards. Video

Hello, stampers! Today I’m sharing a duo of Clean & Simple Christmas cards with the MFT Jolly Molly stamp set. I just love the joyful Dachshunds in this stamp set!

CARD DETAILS

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic markers. I used the following marker colors:

• R27, R24, R22, R20
• C1, C5, C7
• E79, E37, E33, E31
• G99, G94, G21
• YG01, YG03, YG17

I used opaque pens to color the Christmas lights on one of the pups – the Sakura Gelly Roll White pen and Jane Davenport Thriller Jacket pen. There are coordinating dies available and I used mine to cut these adorable images out. I also added highlights to each using a white pen – which adds another level of cuteness to these.

Next, to make the cards I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of my panels and just added the puppies on top. For this card (above), I planned to have 3 puppies placed vertically on the card as if they are walking in the snow. To create the look of snow I used a white pen, this is a pretty wide white marker I have in my stash and I simply drew the snow on the paper similar to how you’d draw a shadow under something, but instead of using a gray marker, I used a white one. The trick here is to use colored cardstock, but not something too pale, otherwise, the snow won’t be visible on the card. My second card uses a much lighter panel for the background and the snow isn’t quite noticeable there.

With the snow added I foam mounted the puppies, I added the gifts and birds to fill the scene. I also wanted to add some falling snow to this card, so I added lots of white dots onto the background using my white gel roll pen. I did keep the dots about 1/4 “ away from the edge of the card.

As for the other card, I filled the background entirely with the Dachshunds and have some going off the edge of the card to create the look of a continuous pattern. I had a blast making these cards and coloring the images from this set!
