With this post I’d like to start a new bi-weekly feature on my blog called Layout Monday. Every 2nd Monday of the month I’ll be sharing a new layout based on the sketch I find online or draw myself. Together with the the layouts I make for Art Ugolok (Russian sketch challenge blog where I’m a DT member) and also share every other Monday I be sharing a new layout every single Monday of the month.
This is first post from the new bi-weekly “Layout Monday” series. You can view all posts from this series by clicking here.
I had several layouts planned ahead of time for this series, but I submitted them for a publication call and they got selected (going to be published this late spring in the Die Scrapperin and this fall in the Scrap365 Magazine), so I had to improvise and made a new ones. My first layout is called Universal Studios. Its about our trip to the Universal Studios amusement park in California right after the winter CHA. I have to admit, we enjoyed it a lot more than Disneyland.
Layout is based on a gorgeous diagonal sketch from Page Maps. I also loved this sketch because it incorporated Spellbinders dies which fit perfectly (if you use the right dies, which I did).
A few detail photos:
Journaling reads: After Winter CHA we decided to have a mini vacation. First stop – Universal Studios!
To create this layout I used the Sweet Girl collection from Echo Park, my Grand Calibur machine and several Page Maps dies from Spellbinders.
