Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by to help celebrate the launch of Hero Arts 2018 Catalog Products (more about the catalog, blog hop and giveaway below). You might have already seen these goodies in several online stores such as Simon Says Stamp, today these products also become available from Hero Arts online store!
I have a few fun and easy to make cards using Hero Arts Welcome Neighbor stamp set. Hero has a ton of gorgeous stamps to play with in this new release, however I have always been a huge fan of little houses and buildings so I was immediately drawn to this stamp set and decided to make a few cards (I do plan to share more projects using new catalog goodies soon, so stay tuned!).

CARDS DETAILS
I started working on my card by stamping 3 out of the 4 houses in Intense Black ink onto white cardstock. To add color to my houses I used Copic markers but I didn’t do any shading or blending, I simply used one marker to apply each color. I went with some of my favorite colors which are Y17 Golden Yellow, RV10 Pale Pink, YG95 Pale Olive and finally a bit brighter pink – RV14 Begonia Pink.
I did make my houses multi color – I colored different sections of the houses using different markers. I used just those 4 and I think that they work well together as a nice an Spring or Summery color combo. I didn’t color the windows or the shutters or the doors, I just colored the walls of my houses.
Next, I used coordinating dies and cut these out in my Spellbinders Platinum Die Cutting and embossing machine.
I wanted to add trees to my buildings, I was feeling a bit wild, I didn’t want to go with the little tree that comes in this Welcome Neighbour stamp set. I wanted to add larger trees to my cards so I grabbed the new Safari Wild About you stamp set and stamped a tree in Hero Arts Soft Olive ink. I used coordinating die for the tree image and cut all of these trees out as well. I wanted to make sure I had at least 2 for each card to place in between the houses.
Next I started to arrange the pieces on a white cardstock panel. I didn’t make colorful backgrounds for my cards but let the houses take center stage with both their bright colors and design. I build my scenes from the bottom up – one house in the front, a tree behind it slightly above, next house – once again slightly above the tree, another tree and the final house in the back. So these look like as if they are standing on a hill and you are looking up the hill from the foot of the hill.
Once I was happy with how everything was placed I foam mounted my stamped and die cut pieces in place. I also stamped my sentiments in black ink and went with “Thanks For Making Us Feel Right At Home” and “Welcome To The Neighbourhood”. I also “framed” my stamped sentiments with little stamped and die-cut clouds.
I have quite a few City-style stamp sets in my collection so I pulled City Adventures set and stamped a bicycle on one of my cards and a taxi on another one.
For my last card I decided to use the leftover mangrove trees that I had on my desk.
The Welcome Neighbour stamp set has a bunch of cool little pieces you can add to your houses – balconies, flower pot and flowers, lamp post, fence and other stings. To little bits and pieces that let you customise your houses. I stamped a few of those in black ink to finish this card.

How cute are these , I love how it has a neighborhood feel.
Love your cards. Can be for guys or gals.
You are so good at pulling in elements from different sets to create a cohesive whole. I also love the block-colored buildings; they remind me of San Francisco, especially when you make them look like they’re on a hill like that. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for another great video. I love your card designs! The city scenes are great.
The “feel right at home” sentiment caught me by surprise. It is something we say and write to our hosts but I have never seen as a stamp, thank you HA. Yana I liked the colors and composition of what could have been boring architecture.
Very nice card! Well done.
