Hero Arts | Sparkling Holiday

Hello friends! I was so sure I shared all of my Holiday projects here, but I remembered I forgot to post this Sparkling Holiday card I made for Hero Arts awhile back. So here it is:

I used Hero Arts Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Cut set to create this card. I didn’t have coordinating dies at the time (this was a card for a catalog, so I was using a prototype stamp set) so I cut my images out by hand and I didn’t leave a white border around the ornaments (when you purchase this set it comes with the dies right away and you don’t have to get them separately). I used watercolor paper, heat embossed images in white embossing powder and colored using my Gansai Tambi watercolors.

I used similar ink colors and stamped solid ornaments hanging from the top of the card using Butter Bar and Bubble Gum ink colors.

To make this card a bit more festive I heat embossed a sentiment in brass embossing powder and also added two brass heat embossed frames layered one onto the other behind the ornament cluster. I used vellum to heat emboss my frames to make it easier to cut them out (I didn’t have coordinating dies for the frames either).

Lastly, I adhered several gold sequins and that finished this simple project.
