I’ve been playing with my color layering stamp sets over the past weekend and couldn’t resist using the Orchid one from Hero Arts. I have two cards to share today, one on Hero Arts Blog and the other one here.

I decided I needed to skip a layer (a base layer) for my orchids and just stamp 2 instead of 3. I am also skipping a layer in a card I’m sharing on Hero Blog, although its a top one I’m omitting there. I started by die cutting the elements out using matching dies out of white cardstock. Because I was planning to skip a base layer I didn’t know how well I would be able to align the 2nd and 3rd layers so I die cut the shapes out first to make it easier.
I used Ultra Pink as well as the Purple Ombre ink pads to stamp the flowers and Forever Green to stamp the stem. I also incorporated leaves from the Orchid in a Pot set and stamped those in Soft Olive and Forever Green, I think they compliment this floral cluster quite nicely.
I heat embossed wood grain in white onto light gray card panel and foam mounted in onto a dark gray A2 card base. I also added a heat embossed Sending Love sentiment, I used vellum instead of paper as I wanted the flowers to show through. Finally I embellished my card with a few clear sequins and clear drops.
