Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by to help celebrate the launch of Hero Arts Holiday 2018 Catalog (be sure to flip through it – there’s plenty of inspiration)!
Today I have 1 product – 3 ways kind of video featuring a brand new Holiday Foliage Bold Prints background cling stamp from Hero Arts 2018 Holiday Catalog. I was only planning to make one card, but as I started playing I got other ideas popping in my head, so I decided to make several projects. I was filming and editing this video right before I left for vacation, so I apologize if it seems a bit rushed. I was really pressed for time and wanted to get it done before I left.

CARD DETAILS – ADVANCED
I stamped background in Versafine Onyx black ink on white cardstock and clear heat embossed it to create a raised edge to this image. I used a variety of Copic marker colors for my coloring.
I used the following marker colors:
- Reds: R89, R39, R27, R24, R22.
- Greens: G99, G94, YG03; YG99, YG95, YG93: YG13, YG01, YG00.
- Yellows: YR04, Y35, Y13
- Browns: E79, E37
- B99 for the blue background
For the sentiment for this card I used beautiful “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Winter Holiday Messages stamp set and I heat embossed it my new favorite embossing powder – gold glitter. I trimmed my sentiment into a little rectangle and I foam mounted it onto my background, which in turn was adhered onto an A2 white card base. Next I used my Tonic Aqua shimmer pen and I added some sparkle and shimmer to the poinsettias. Next, I used Hero Arts Lacquer pen and I added dimensional clear detail over the berries on this background.
This handmade card uses Nuvo Drops to make berries. Want to see 4 other ways you can use Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios in card making? Check out this article – 5 Ways to Use Nuvo Drops.
Finally, I used my white pen and I added white dots onto the background making it look like snow.
CARD DETAILS – MEDIUM
For my card idea #2, this is a medium difficulty card I decided to heat emboss this background on black paper. I used my new favorite gold glitter embossing powder for a ton of sparkle and I loved the look. This particular powder is not as fine as some of the other powders by hero arts, so it did obliterate some of the detail on this background stamp, but I still think it ended up looking absolutely spectacular. And the best part – it was super easy to do.
I white embossed a sentiment for this card on a piece of red cardstock. I went with a fun message from the Off Beat Holiday messages stamp set – it’s an awesome set with those snarky and not so typical messages for the holiday season. I trimmed this piece into a little V-shape banner and I foam mounted it on my background which in turn was adhered onto an a2 white card base.
To step this background up a bit I used my Nuvo Drops in Red Berry and I coated every berry on the background red.
CARD DETAILS – EASY
For my final card idea, the easiest one for today I once again heat embossed this background, but this time in silver glitter embossing powder – this one is also fabulous for the holiday season. I used Simon Say Stamp Sea Glass cardstock. For my sentiment I used “All I Want For Christmas is you, wink wink” from that same Off Beat Holiday Messages stamp set.
So there you have it – 3 project ideas, super complicated, medium and easy to make using Hero Arts new Holiday Foliage Bold Prints background stamp. I hope you enjoyed this video idea and the cards I shared and will give this a try. Let me know if you’d like me to film more videos like this where I take one product and share 3 ways to use it – from simple to complicated.

Wow Yana, great demo video on how to create three strikingly beautiful backgrounds with this one stamp and different techniques. The first card is amazing and creative and I love how you pulled it all together. I think the second is my favourite both because of the rich gold embossing and the pop of red in the berries and snarky sentiment panel. The third one is beautiful too.
