CARD DETAILS
I decided to go with a very simple project this month. I wanted to use a mermaid stamp but since I was short on time (I made this card right before I left for CREATE) I knew I wont be able to color it, so I decided to use colored cardstock instead and create a color block background.
I cut several colors of Simon Says Stamp cardstock (all linked below) into 1 1/4″ wide strips and adhered them onto an A2 top folding card base. Next I used black ink and stamped the mermaid.
For my sentiment I used Sending Mermaid Kisses And Starfish Wishes message from the kit and heat embossed it in white embossing powder onto black cardstock and foam mounted onto the card.
I also embellished my card using Sparkling Clear sequins and clear drops from my stash and I randomly scattered those around my project.

Love the card. I actually appreciate the fact that it wasn’t colored. I don’t have the skills or time or desire to always color in a an image

What clever use of paper — I agree with previous comments – coloring isn’t my “thing”, nice to see such pretty results without breaking out markers or paints.

I love that you did the layering for the background with paper and then didn’t do any coloring. Great idea for those times when you need a card but don’t have time to color. For other times, too, because when a stamp is this beautiful it’s nice to let the stamp speak for itself.
