Hero Arts Holiday Blog Hop. Bring You Joy Card + Video + Giveaway

This post is also available in Українською мовою

Hi everyone! I’m taking part in a Handmade for Christmas Blog Hop from Hero Arts today, yay! We are sharing Holiday projects using Hero goodies.

Hero Arts Handmade for Christmas Blog Hop 2014

I made a simple Bring You Joy card on a clear card base using a fabulous Pen & Ink Christmas Tree stamp. Its been awhile since I made anything on an acetate card base, so I decided to give it a go.

As always, I’m sharing a video showing you how the card came together. I also talk about ways you can embellish this tree to make it more festive.

You can watch my video below or on Youtube. Enjoy!

  1. Simply stunning! I follow u on youtube, so I saw this early this morning before I even knew about the blog hop!

  2. Love the acetate card! I have a stash of them in my scrap room, so I’m going to have to go dig them out and try this technique!

  3. Everyone always says they liked the card – I really and I mean really liked this card – the artsy type of tree with the sentiment was perfect – I really – really liked this card.

  4. I have never seen a card made in acetate before. I have a queston when I emboss on black cardstock with gold, 1st I use the emboss buddy the do the same thing; however my cardstock ends up dingy looking after. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Laurie, mine does too. It helps to wipe it with a damp cloth, a damp paper towel. You can do that right after the embossing before you stamp any additional elements or add anything else to the card.

  5. I have never used acetate card bases and this makes it actually look easy..and so elegant! The stamps are perfect together on the black panel. Great work!!

  6. I wouldn’t have thought to use black cardstock for a Christmas card, but this card is very elegant using black background with gold embossing.

  7. I’ve never used acetate card bases before but after seeing your card here I will have to try this. also love the tree stamp you used, oh dear more on my wish list, it’s got a life of it’s own now!!!! LOL!!! TFS

  8. I’ve got this tree stamp and used it a lot last year, but I’ve not thought to go “chalkboard” with it. Great inspiration.
