Gina K. Designs & Hero Arts | Easy One Layer Floral Card with Minimal Coloring

Hello, friends! Today I’m honored and excited to join the special Partners: Gina K. Designs & Hero Arts release blog hop. As you know, Hero Arts is celebrating their 45 year anniversary this year bringing us many fabulous stamp designs in collaboration with other wonderful stamp companies in the industry.

This month Hero Arts partnered with Gina K. Designs for a large stunning floral set complete with beautiful sentiments. As I am very much into heat embossing these days, I did a simple heat embossed card with minimal coloring.

CARD DETAILS

This stamp set features a large floral cluster that easily fills an entire A2 card. Since I wanted to incorporate one of the larger sentiments from this set I positioned the floral cluster cascading from the top edge of the panel. I heat embossed it in Brass embossing powder on dark blue cardstock – I simply love the look of this embossing powder (or gold powder) or dark blue – it’s very classy and always looks stunning.

Next, I used my Tonic Studios Shimmer Pen and “colored” all of the leaves and flowers with shimmer. It’s a bit hard to see, but as the card is tilted in the light the shimmer becomes more apparent.

I also wanted to add some shading to the flowers so I used my Copic markers in B97 and B99 to just a bit of color. I was careful not to color over the heat embossed lines. Finally, to decorate this simple one layer card I used several sequins from Hero Arts Ombre Ocean mix.
