I have something different to share today. I call this 3 Sheets = 8 Cards video/tutorial. While I don’t usually make cards using patterned paper only, I was tempted by beautiful Holiday collection by Alexandra Renke. They sent me a huge box of goodies and the minute I opened it I had all of these ideas rushing through my mind. One of those ideas was to use patterned paper to make several easy Christmas cards. And when I say easy, believe me, they are easy, I don’t think there’s anything easier than this. All you need is patterned paper, paper trimmer, along with regular and foam adhesive.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.
FAST HOLIDAY CARDMAKING WITH MINIMUM SUPPLIES
I first trimmed 12×12″ sheet in half so to 12 x 6″ and than into 4 pieces that will make the front of my cards – 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 “. This does give you some left over paper that can be used for additional cards, but I felt like 4 out of one sheet was plenty already.
Next, you’ll need to pre-cut your card bases by cutting white Letter size cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ and scoring it at 4 1/4″ mark to make regular A2 card. The next step is to add adhesive to the card base and adhered panels on top. I like to remove the liner from one strip of double sided tape, align the panel on the card base, press it down and then remove the 2nd liner piece. This helps to adhere everything straight. If you struggle you can try using glue to adhere these down as using glue will give you some wiggle room.
To create sentiments for these cards I used another sheets of patterned paper – one with journaling cards. I cut out the cards I liked and and trimmed to size.
Next, I added foam adhesive to the back of each of my panels and adhered in place. I backed some of sentiment panels with red cardstock to frame the sentiment panel a bit. Because the sentiment panel is done in the same colors as the background it might easily get lost if you adhere it straight onto the card so using either foam adhesive or adding a colored panel to frame it is a great way to help separate the sentiment panel from the background and drive the eye of the viewer to the sentiment.
I hope you’ll give this idea a try! Have fun crafting!
TAKE THESE A STEP FURTHER
Want to take these cards a step further? Use a clear shimmer pen to add some shimmer & sparkle to select areas of the card or coat poinsettia leaves with Red or Gold glitter glue for some dimensional sparkly goodness!

Wow, these are absolutely STUNNING. Yana you have done it again. I love how beautiful that paper is and you certainly have an eye for what to do with it. We’ll done!
Wowww!! These papers are gorgeous and you have created super pretty cards!!
Great cards!! Those papers are beautiful.
Beautiful cards, it’s a shame it’s so expensive to ship here because the individual sheets are very reasonable and Simon isn’t offering individual sheets and for their price, I would prefer to pick and choose my paper and leave out the ones I don’t want.
Gorgeous cards Yana!!!!
Isn’t that cheating?! LOL! At this time of year, short-cuts are invaluable! Great idea!
it is 🙂 lol! But sometimes you have to do just that 🙂
These are some of my favorites of all the cards that you have made to share with all of your fans! Merriest of Christmas’ to you…. America misses you!
Beautiful! Great Job.
