Happy Monday, everyone! Today I have a fun video on my Youtube channel focusing on easy coloring using solid shapes (solid stamps).
I have been getting more and more excited about outline images and as my excitement and fascination with these types of stamps grows I keep looking for simple and easy ways to color images. I’ve seen a lot of artists use this technique and I’ve been wanting to give it a try myself – and I finally have!
Like this project? Pin it and save for later!
I’ve used animal images from Hero Arts to create these cards. I started with the finger print painting technique shared by Jennifer McGuire about a year ago (had a total blast, no clue why I didn’t try it sooner) and than decided to look for simple stamp shapes in my stash to color the rest of the animals.
I first grabbed the Stamp Your Own Plant stamp set from Hero Arts and used beet and onion images to color mice. These aren’t solid images, they have some texture to them which makes a final colored image a very unique one.
I kept on stamping and stamped some piggies and bunnies; I had to look for something bigger to color them so I grabbed the Color Layering Graphic Flowers stamp set and used leaves and flowers. As for the inks I finally tried new pigment inks by Lia (I have them all linked below), love the colors and the quality! They are perfect for stamping on the go, too.
I have previously used the Baby Animals stamps and dies and shared a few cards on Hero Arts Blog. You can check those out HERE (or click on the photo below):
