Colorado Craft Company | Slimline Floral Cards | Video + Giveaway

Hello crafters! Today’s video is brought to you by Colorado Craft Company and no, you are not seeing double! I did share their January 2021 release in early January, the one featuring Anita Jeram’s illustrations, and today I have another video to share featuring the brand new Big & Bold release!

VIDEO TUTORIAL

For this video, I decided I’d make slimline cards. These florals are so large, it is only fitting they are used on bigger card size. I started working on all my cards by stamping the images in alcohol marker friendly ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. I used my MISTI stamping tool for stamping. I knew I’d be coloring these with my Copic markers, so I stamped images in Memento Tuxedo Black, and similarly to my Anita Jeram cards, I re-stamped the outlines, once images were colored, with VersaFine Onyx Black ink to have true black outlines.

Watch the video below or on my Youtube channel.

Like this video? Please give it a big thumbs up (you can do this on Youtube video page right under the video) and share it with a crafty friend! Leave me a comment too, I love hearing from you!

When you work with images this large – they are a treat to color. There’s room for experimentation. There’s room to really take your time and enjoy the process. There’s room to try out new techniques or coloring mediums. I was in the mood for alcohol marker coloring, so I used some of my go-to colors and simple coloring techniques to bring these florals to life.

      1. Oh and I love coloring with markers, but don’t have many, so I usually color with watercolor it colored pencils ☺

  5. My favorite way to color is with watercolour. I have always loved your style of cards. I love bold colors and floral designs. And of course foil is so perfect as an excellent embellishment. Sounds like everything you make, right? Like aways love all these cards again can’t wait to see what your next card is. Be safe ❤

  6. Love all of your cards! I make A2 size cards however I have started to do slimline. I always learned so much watching your videos. These big and bold stamps are phenomenal.

  7. Wow, love them all but especially the lilacs, I am into slimline right now and these are just perfect. Thank you for the inspiration as always, simply stunning. Stay safe love Jane x

  8. My favorite way to color is alcohol markers right now but I just recieved zig real brush watercolor markers so I am really starting to love those as well.

  9. My favourite way to colour is pencils and I love slimline cards. These you have made are beautiful!

  10. I LOVE and slimline cards and those sets are perfect for that size…That lilac set took my breath away as I’m from Rochester, NY, the lilac capital! LOVE them and the aroma is so wonderful!! My favorite way to color is colored pencils and Gamsol or watercolors!!

  11. Your cards are just beautiful…….as always. These are going to be such fun images to color! I still like my A2 card size. I haven’t ventured into the slimline craze yet………but I never say never!

  12. I have followed your tutorials on YouTube for a while. My favorite way to color is with watercolor paints. I am not great but I find it relaxing:)

  13. Your cards are always beautiful and appealing, I am particularly partial to florals so these three cards hit the jackpot for me. I am a beginner and am learning to like coloring. I think, so far, watercolor is my favorite, followed by copics. Thank you for sharing your ideas!

  14. The new Colorado Craft Big and Bold release is fabulous and adding your talents makes them amazing!
Alcohol markers and Zigs are my go-to ways to color.

  17. Wow! Your cards are absolutely beautiful! I love the white magnolias! I enjoy coloring with alcohol markers. And, I love the look of slimline cards, I just don’t make enough of them.Thank you for the video!

  18. Those are some pretty amazing stamps! Really like the look of the dogwood stamp. I typically go for the 5×7 size cards ( more room to play with) but I have to admit, I am all on board the slim line train. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

  19. My “go to” coloring is also Copic markers, but I do try colored pencils and watercolor once in awhile. I just do’t have as much experience with them yet. I love the way the yellow cardstock sets off the lilac; and the way the grey cardstock sets off the dogwood blossoms. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

  20. I love what you made with these stamps! They are all so pretty. Lilacs are some of my favorite flowers but I’m not sure I’d have the patience to color that one, lol. Love the yellow background on it, too.

  21. My favorite way to color-Copics!. I also use colored pencils. These big and bold stamp sets are gorgeous, perfect for Slimline cards.

  22. Absolutely beautiful cards! My favorite way to color is pencils but I am wanting to try water coloring.

  23. These new big & bold sets and all your cards are absolutely beautiful!! I just purchased my first Colorado Craft stamps (B&B cupcake and the hydrangea); can’t wait to get them and start creating. I believe the dog wood +/or magnolia are in my future as well!!
I typically make A2 size cards, but I am enjoying making small gift enclosure cards lately too. You can focus on one special image or element and experiment with a new technique or product in a small way, but that can pack a big punch in that small space. People seem to enjoy these little notes/cards tucked into gifts, left on their desk at work, or in their lunchbox…..
TFS your talent & inspiration. I look forward to ALL your posts and especially your videos!

  24. Hi Yana, you’re such an inspiration. I love the dogwood and magnolia but all three bring back memories of the gorgeous blooms and the heady smell of the lilacs in spring. I mostly do A2 but really love the slimline cards. I use my alcohol markers and pencils. Watercolor would be really pretty for the lilacs. Thanks for a chance to win a set from C3. Their stuff is amazing.

  25. Stunning cards, as always! I’ve been trying to use Copics and watercoloring but it’s a big learning curve for me so I resort to color pencils with gamsol. Thank you for the chance to win one of these beautiful sets! Love CCC’s Big and Bold series!

  26. I do love what you have done with the big bold floral stamps! I don’t normally care to craft with flowers but I would give these a try AFTER I craft with Anita’s stamps! I can’t wait to give mine a try and possibly share! I am so excited! I love your work!

  27. I love to brush embossing ink and emboss. These are big and they’d be perfect with the brush embossing technique.
