Colorado Craft Company | July 2020 | Cardmaking & Coloring in Graphic Style. No Blending Copic Coloring with Big & Bold sets. Video + Giveaways #cardmaking #coloradocraftcompany #copiccoloring #stamping

Hello! Today I have something very special to share with all of you and I also have a giveaway to thank you for being my loyal subscribers and viewers. There are 5 giveaways sponsored by Colorado Craft Company.

Colorado Craft Company is a newer stamp company. I have shared a video and several projects with their products back in July 2019 and January 2020 and I had an absolute blast creating with their stamps. What I love most about their designs is their huge size. The images, especially in their Big & Bold line, are very large and easily take center stage on an A2 card and can readily be used on larger projects.

I have 3 cards to share with you all featuring their new Big & Bold stamp line, the new designs for July 2020. These are available exclusively at Simon Says Stamp for the first 2 days after the launch, so July 3rd and July 4th, and after that, on July 5th they will also become available on the Colorado Craft Company’s website.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

Watch the video tutorial below or on Youtube to learn how I made the cards I’m sharing today.

BIG & BOLD SETS BY COLORADO CRAFT COMPANY

Each of the Big & Bold sets features one large size image that easily takes up the entire space of an A2 card and the stamp sets also have a number of coordinating sentiments done in various styles to complement the image.

Because of the size of these images, you have the freedom to really go to town with your favorite coloring mediums and add as many details as you like. You also have a lot of room to dress up your cards with additional mediums and add in more detail with a white pen for example, or glossy accents.

CARDS DETAILS

I started to work on my cards by stamping my images in Copic Marker friendly ink, Simon Says Stamp Intense Black, on white cardstock. I’ve done some prep work and have picked the colors of markers I wanted to use to color my flamingo. I tested various combinations and I also tested various alcohol markers, not just Copics. I ended up deciding to use RV10, RV21, and RV23, those are Copic markers and 453 marker, which is a Nuvo marker by Tonic Studios.

Included in the flamingo set is beautiful tropical greenery. I stamped it in black ink and my idea was to color it, cut it out and layer over my bird. I also stamped a sentiment, it reads Tickled Pink that we are friends. I adhered my panel to the A2 white side folding card base, next I added Pink Blush Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and covered the image with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add some shimmery shine to my flamingo.

The hummingbird card features some masking. I stamped the image of the hummingbird, masked it and stamped flowers cascading from the top down. I ended up having 4 flowers creating a busy floral background for my bird. I used very similar marker colors to do my coloring. I went with RV10, R83, and RV19.
The leaves were colored using Altenew markers and I used G702, G715, and G554. The bird was colored using:

I also used a B000 marker to color the background light blue. I love this trick – using my Copic markers to add color to the background. I stamped a sentiment in black ink on a separate piece of paper, cut it out and foam mounted onto the card. Next, I used a white pen and cleaned up the flower stamens a bit and again used a Nuvo shimmer pen to add shimmer and shine to my bird.

I’ve found the peacock image the hardest to color using my no blending method. I think that is probably because I’ve never colored a peacock before and I just had no idea where to start. To make things easier for myself, and you can use this trick also, I used a pencil and sectioned the image indicating what color each section needed to be. That made the coloring so much easier! In a way, this ended up being like paint by number.

Colorado Craft Company | A Queen’s Crown Cards | FREE SHIPPING!

Happy Sunday and, of course, happy 4th of July weekends to my US readers. Today I have two…

Comments227

      1. In your video you asked for favorite coloring medium, I thought. That’s why I said Copics. On the blog you ask for favorite lip color! No, I don’t use Copics on my lips! I use a sheer mauve by L’Oreal.

          1. I like to color with alcohol markers and watercolor brush pens. I love these stamps, so big and beautiful. Thank you for doing a giveaway it let’s people like me who don’t have the money to buy the more expensive stuff a chance to maybe win it.

    1. Love your new coloring technique. All your cards are gorgeous, but this new way is just fun. My favorite lip color is Estee Lauder Rouge Excess although it’s been awhile since I’ve worn it. It would be a great color for those Co. Craft Lips!

  1. Hello, love all of your card. They came out beautiful. So nice to share new stamp company. My favorite lip color is Purple from color pop cosmetics. It’s not a dark purple but it’s light enough and goes well for summer.

  2. I love this graphic coloring technique and it is the next technique I want to try, I do not have many copies but have some other alcohol pens so will mix and match, and for my lips I am pretty plain and just like old fashioned cherry chap stick

  3. I don’t think it’s possible but you always manage to outdo yourself. I’m again flashed by your cards. My favorite coloring method is Copic markers for sure. But I also like to color with ink pads using layering stamps or ink blend. I think the question about the lip color is from your post about the lip card (which I also loved btw). This would be rosewood in my case. Looking forward to your next video.

  4. Hi Yana! I just love this new technique you’ve been using so cool! I’m definitely going to get out my markers and give it a try! My favorite lip color is a soft pink and sometimes especially in the summer a peach. I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. Thanks so much for all you do!

  5. Hi Yana! Gorgeous cards! Those stamps are so cool! My favorite lip color is actually by Cover Girl called Enchantress Blush, a very pretty pink! Thanks for another great video! I just recently started purchasing copic markers, so still trying to learn

  6. WOW!!!!! love these especially the peacock, you did an amazing job with the colouring of it, bold stamp & bold coloring. Well done! My fav lip color is Laura Mercier … Stickgloss Lip Colour, Courtisane xXx

  7. My favorite way to color is with Copic markers but sometimes I just don’t feel like blending 😀 I love this bold no-blending method and I will definitely give it a try! Thank you for the inspiration, Yana!

  8. These cards are so dramatic. I love the high impact. My favorite way to color is to lay down the base color in Copics and then blend Colored Pencils over the top. I’m no longer brand loyal with colored pencils and I use Faber-Castell, Caran d’Ache, Prismacolor, and Blick Studio pencils.

I don’t like the way lipstick feels so I color my lips with lipstains. My favorite brand is Fran Wilson’s Mood Matchers. I usually go for red or orange.

    Thanks for the giveaway.

  9. My favorite lip color is a nude slight gloss pink color so my lip is still a natural color but shiny bringing some focus to my lips when I speak. I have come to know that when people watch your lips as you speak they are more likely to remember what you said so focus there is a win win.

  10. I click very excited and fast as soon You Tube notification Pops up letting me know you have uploaded a new video. Your color combinations are always so beautiful and the harmony you create among the main image, sentiment and embellishments is perfection! I very often don’t know when to stop. Many times my greeting cards end up to busy. In your YT video you asked about favorite color medium and in the blog about favorite lipstick, two of my favorites topics to “talk” about. My favorite color medium is watercolors, follow very close by Color Pencils. My favorite lipstick at the moment is a color named “beauty” (nude to very light pink) made by a Company called “Christian Audette” in a collaboration with You tube Make Up Artist Mel Thompson, follow very close by color named “Velvet Decade” (Dark brown that when seen on the tube, you would think “that is to dark” but on it is gorgeous!) Formulated by and sold by British MUA Lisa Eldridge. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cards and for the opportunity to enter the give away. These are so big, great for coloring as you said.

  11. Awesome cards. I love that the stamps are so bold. My favorite coloring medium is colored pencils. As for lip color, I haven’t worn any in years and can’t remember what it was called. Thank you for the opportunity.

  12. Because of you, i have ordered 38 copics! I love the no blending ❤️❤️
I am not much of a makeup Girl, so must of the time, og dont use lip Color, but if i am going to a party or so, i use a very light pink
    Thanks for your amazing videos

  13. Absolutely stunning Yana! Great video tutorial! Love the big bold images! I don’t wear lipstick, on a rare occasion I’ll wear lip gloss so I’m a nude kinda girl! But I’ve seen some people pull off red lipstick and love it! Some day I’ll be brave and try red lipstick!

  14. Yana, your coloring is amazing! It was so interesting to watch your process. These bird cards were just gorgeous. I haven’t tried this way to color yet, I’m a bit intimidated! My favorite way to color is watercoloring right now.

  15. striking cards Yana. These images are perfect for the technique and your eye for color and composition is amazing. Love it – now to give it a go myself… coloring is not one of my strong points but this technique give me confidence…

  16. WoW, I love this new release with bolt images.
I really like to color them with my copics or colored pencils.
But maybe they Will also Be beautiful in watercolor.
I don’t have a favorite medium, it dependance on my mood.

  17. Hi Yana! I believe YOU were THE FIRST to introduce me to The Colorado Craft Company & their BIG & BOLD LINE! I ADORE the BB line! OH, HOW I WISH I had known about these new sets LAST NIGHT when I made my order to SSS! (It was for my B.D.) I LOOOVE what you’ve done with theses GORGEOUS BIRDS! My favorite coloring method is WATER COLORING! (P.S. I am a BIRD Lady! LOL We have a flock outside….CHICKENS! LOTS of babies this spring!!! There is a farm up the road with LOTS of Peacocks!!! WHAT A GORGEOUS ANIMAL!!! You did the bird JUSTICE on your card!!!! STUNNING!!!) ;)<3

  18. These cards are amazingly beautiful! I love this new style of coloring that you’ve created. I don’t have a favorite way to color…in fact, I try to avoid coloring because I’m not that good. I’d love to try this style out on that hummingbird!

  19. Love the new big and bold flamingo, hummingbird and peacock! I usually do the do the blending of copic markers and occasionally do the no blend when doing multiple of the same image.

  20. Those big and bold stamp sets are so pretty!!! I love these even more than the first set of stamps you showed from CCC.

The coloring you used is right up my alley. Yesterday I tried alcohol ink blending again after a long time and it’s just not my thing (too much work, too little result). But I think that this style might be perfect for me!! Will try soon.

My favorite way to color is watercolor!

  21. First I don’t wear makeup but if I did I would choose Tom Ford’s lipstick color “First Time.” Second “WOW” your cards are so beautiful.I had tried the technique of stamping with the versa mark and then using distress ink for the first time with with the Colorado “Bee” stamps and feel in love. What you have done with these birds is amazing. Glad I found you and will keep coming back to see what else you have in store for us.

  22. I am loving your graphic technique. I am getting ready in my head to try it. I love my Copics, but am looking at other brands because of the cost of Copics. I am being told that there are alot of other alcohol markers that are working just as well as Copics. Lip Color, is chap stick from Bath and Body. Love your cards.
