We are going to talk about color (again)! Welcome to the long-awaited Color Study Episode #2 (it’s been nearly nine months since the first episode was published).
Color Study is my challenge to try out new color combinations, explore Color Theory, and get better at making cards and picking out colors.
In this episode, we are exploring an analogous color combination and looking at the yellow, green, and blue-green color combo. I’ve been meaning to give this combo a go for a long time, and now, I finally have!

I have shared a look at the analogous color combo in the past; you can find it HERE. Analogous colors are colors that sit next to each other on the color wheel. It can be as little as 2 colors or as many as 5. Having a color wheel is super helpful, as you can just slide the color wheel preview and see the analogous colors at a glance. This is the color wheel I use (this shows the back side):

YELLOW, GREEN & BLUE GREEN
Here’s a look at the card examples I have for you featuring this gorgeous color combination (I think it is perfect for Spring):
I have 2 cards created with the Flower Cart dies – one featuring a light blue-green background with lots of yellow and another one featuring a darker blue-green background with more green.
As with all color combinations, you can always add white and black. Here, I added white by using opaque white foil to foil the sentiment “Mom” and “Happy Mother’s Day” and white pearls as flower centers.
I also used silver cardstock for the bucket and dark gray for the handle.

I also made another card with florals to continue the floral theme of this series. I used the Vivid Blooms dies:

This concludes my color study #2. While this is not a typical color combo for me (I gravitate towards darker and more saturated colors), I enjoyed exploring this combo. I hope you’ll give it a try as well.
