This is another post from the new bi-weekly “Clean & Simple Die Cutting” series. You can view all posts from this series by clicking here.
Today I’d like to share a card with felt flowers along with a short video on how I made it. I though it would be a good idea to use something other than paper in Grand Calibur machine and felt seemed like a nice alternative.
To create this card I used my favourite spiral flower die from Spellbinders along with some bright felt from Dovecraft:
Using the same die I cut three flowers, each slightly smaller – I just snipped a few outer petals off to decrease the size of the finished flower:
To make flowers shorter and less dimensional (suitable for a card) I trimmed some felt off of a die cut:
I than rolled each flower and secured it with glue from Beacon Adhesives. I used to use my hot glue gun for this, but I find Beacon Adhesive glue works just as good and I don’t have to wait for it to warm up.
I also made a video on how to make these felt flowers, but its in Ukrainian:
I used double sided embossing folder from Spellbinders to create an embossed pattern for my card. I absolutely love this diamond design!
For the sentiment I die cut a banner and stamped “From The Heart” sentiment using Hero Arts stamps and Color Box pigment ink in Berry:
I added a strip of washi tape to the card base (I ended up using a different washi tape design from American Crafts) to make the card a bit more interesting:
And finally I assembled all of my pieced on a card base. I used foam squares to attach sentiment banner:
Here’s a look at my finished card:
Would you reshoot your video in English? thanks!
I can try 🙂 might take me awhile 🙂
