Hello all! I am addicted to stamping and this is definitely no secret. I also love to create my own unique backgrounds using various stamped images.
Large scale designs work best for quick pattern stamping and today I’d like to share 4 cards I created in less than an hour using Altenew’s stunning Peony Bouquet stamp set. I have previously shared this technique using various tropical images (you can see more HERE), today I’d like to re-visit this technique again.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I am explaining everything in detail on my video, you can watch it below or on my Youtube channel:
CARD DETAILS
The idea is instead of using an A2 sheet to create one card begin stamping on a full Letter or A4 (for my European friends) sheet of cardstock. By working on a larger sheet of paper and by using large images you can quickly create a beautiful hand-stamped pattern for your cards. It is going to take a bit longer than stamping one A2 background, but not 4-times as long.
I started by stamping outlines of the images I wanted to use first. I used VersaFine Onyx Black ink for a rich black outlines. I had all of my images mounted onto clear blocks so that I didn’t have to spend time re-mounting my stamps, having a bunch of clear blocks is certainly very helpful when it comes to this type of stamping.
Usually I stamp images rather randomly when I am making similar backgrounds, today however, I started with a large flower, added leaves and smaller flower to create a cluster. Once the outlines were stamped I switched to matching solid images and started coloring my background.
I am no expert colorist so I adore using stamp set like this one, sets that allow me to pretend I can have fantastic colored images on my cards. While there are matching layers to stamp-color these flowers and leaves you can always color them using your favorite coloring medium.
Once my background stamping was complete I cut my sheet apart into 4 pieces, adhered them onto A2 card bases and added beautiful sentiments from the Painted Inspiration stamp set.
