Simon Says Stamp | All Tropical

Hello, friends! Last night I had this idea to create a leaf only background that would resemble a tropical wall. So first thing this morning, after having my morning coffee, of course, I started stamping my idea.

CARD DETAILS

I used Tropical Leaves stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to create all of these leaves. It’s an older set, from a few years back I think, but it is still one of my most used sets each Summer.

I used just 2 colors of ink for this stamping – Willow from Simon Says Stamp and Moss from Hero Arts. I wanted to use Forever Green for a deeper darker top layer, but I couldn’t find that ink pad.

This stamp set has a set of matching dies, so after a few minutes of die-cutting, I had my leaves and adhered them to A2 card base with the help of glue and foam adhesive. I also shaped most of the die cuts using fingers.

I was too lazy to stamp the sentiment, so I cut one out from Simon’s Sentiment Strips Set #4. I just discovered these strips and I’ve found them to be VERY convenient. In fact, I just used a bunch on another set of cards (will share those soon).

Lastly, I added a lot of water drops to the leaves using Tonic’s Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew. Tropical card was done!

What do you think? I’d love to thy this idea again, but with other images, can’t think of anything else but flowers. Suggestions?
