Simon Says Stamp | A Holiday Hello Card

Sending you a Holiday Hello! Today’s card is very simple (and yes, I do say this every time I share a new project on my blog; they all feel simple to me; why make complicated cards? lol!). I’ve been exploring my older stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp (to use with the new Tiny Words Christmas) and came across the one with the gifts.

CARD DETAILS

I stamped a curved banner and 2 gift images from the Merry & Bright stamp set and colored using my Copic markers (YG99, YG95, YG93; R39, R27, R24). I also stamped a 3rd gift overlapping the two and stamped it once again on a piece of scrap paper. That’s where I colored it and cut out right up to the edge. I placed it onto my card and adhered in place. This saved me from trouble of doing masking. I also used my white pen and added diagonal strip and circle details to the gifts. Plus using a white pen is always a good way to hide any Copic coloring that might have bled outside the line of the stamped image.

For the top portion of this panel I stamped “A Holiday Hello” and added two snowflakes with horizontal lines framing the sentiment in a way. I love doing this lately – it helps even the smallest sentiment look a lot bigger on a card.

I trimmed my white panel down slightly and set aside while I was working on the background. I stamped gingham background in red ink on red cardstock and adhered that onto my card front. Next, I foam mounted my white panel in place for a bit of dimension. Finally, I embellished my card with gold jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
