It’s STAMPtember! | Clearly Besotted Exclusive – My Best Friend

Hello, friends and welcome back for another “It’s STAMPtember!” post! Today I am sharing a card featuring some of my colored pencils experiments. This card was made using Clearly Besotted Exclusive Collaboration stamp set called My Best Friend.

This stamp set is a gorgeous example of a layering floral set that are so incredibly popular these days. I challenged myself to step outside of my comfort zone and use some other way to transport these gorgeous flowers onto paper.

CARD DETAILS

I used Hero Arts Gold embossing powder and heat embossed the very last detailed layer onto black cardstock – stamped several of those to fill the entire front of my A2 card front. Next, I picked out a few colored pencils from my Faber Castell Polychromos set and colored in the petals in quick short strokes.

I used 3 colors – Magenta, Rose Carmine and White. I didn’t think too much about how I wanted to color these, but rather let the shape of heat embossing guide the directionality of my strokes. The first cluster was bit hard to figure out, but once I had it done the rest were easy to copy.

I adhered my colored panel onto an A2 side folding note card, added a Gold heat embossed sentiment on top and embellished my card using Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew. I had quite a few white (I mean empty) spaces on my card so these accent dots worked out beautifully.
