Hello, friends! I have a set of cards that I’ve been waiting to share with you t probably since January. Why for so long you ask? January is when I actually made these cards using the new dies from Spellbinders (these dies became available for purchase just a few days ago).
Some of you know that I’ve started working for Spellbinders in August 2016 and one of my duties as an in-house designer is to create projects that go on the product packaging. The May 2017 Die D-Lites collection was one of my favorite collections so I was extremely happy I got to play with these dies and make the cute little cards.
These projects are very very simple and each features just the one die that it was created for, but you can most certainly mix and match these with the other dies you might already have.
YOU’RE A BRIGHT SPOT IN MY DAY CARD
First up is this floral card created using Flower Powder dies. I made this card by first stamping the cutest “You’re A Bright Spot In My Day” sentiment from MFT Cup Of Tea stamp set the in black ink onto an A2 top folding card base. Next, I die-cut a number of flowers out Simon’s Fog, Sea Glass and Sunshine cardstock as well as out of white fun foam. Adhered flowers onto the foam to make them dimensional and foam mounted the onto the card. I also used a white gel pen and added little dotted details to flower petals.
You can also use these flowers to create dimensional blooms. Simply layer smaller die cuts inside the larger ones and connect them using a brad or pierce a hole inside and maybe add some stamens.
YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING CARD
Next is a cute bicycle card. I started working on this one by heat embossing “You Are My Everything” sentiment from the Avery Elle Favorite Person stamp set in white embossing powder onto Fog cardstock.
Next, I die-cut a bicycle out of white paper and blended Distress Wild Honey ink onto the bottom part of the die cut to create a gradient. I also die-cut identical image out of sticky white fun foam.I adhered bicycle onto my card, added several die-cut flowers and leaves and used a white gel pen to add white flower centers.
STAY COOL CARD
The Stay Cool is, I think, perfect for Summer! I die-cut a number of ice cream pieces out of Fog, Audrey Blue, Sunshine and Green Apple cardstock from Simon. I used gray die cuts to create faux embossed panel for my card; the colored pieces were put together into an ice cream cone and foam mounted onto my card.
For my sentiment I picked “Stay Cool” message from MFT Stay Cool stamp set.
ALWAYS & FOREVER CARD
The “Always & Forever” card uses a beautiful Hearts die. This die doesn’t actually cut the holes for stitching, it only embosses them. I pieced the embossed holes to be able to stitch the pocket onto the heart die and to stitch the heart on the perimeter.
I used Avery Alle Favorite Person stamp set to stamp my sentiment here and once again added white gel pen details to the heart and also die cut smaller hearts and leaves.
FOR YOU CARD
To create the “For You” card I die-cut a number of feathers out of several colors of cardstock, blended ink around the edges and used a white gel pen to add some detail. I adhered feathers onto an A2 top folding card base and created a pattern.
For a sentiment I stamped “For You” using WPlus9 Whimsy Alpha stamp set and various colors of ink.
THANKS CARD
The “Bow Tie” Thanks card similar to the “Always & Forever” card also features little dry embossed dots along the edge of the die cut. I once again highlighted them using a white gel pen. The large “Thanks” sentiment comes from the MFT Kind Thanks stamp set.
HOORAY CARD
The trophy “Hooray” card is simplicity itself. I die-cut the trophy out of Audrey Blue cardstock and blended Peacock Feathers Distress ink around the edges, I also used a white gel pen and added a white highlight on the top of the cup. Two more trophies were cut out of white and adhered flush onto the background. I also added a green die cut ribbon and a sentiment banner.
The “Hooray” message comes from Hero Arts Everyday Messages stamp set.
SO VERY BLESSED CARD
The Sun & Clouds card features a bit of negative die cutting (several clouds were die cut out of the background panel) along with some simple ink blending for an ombre look. Sentiment comes from the Right At Home Script Greetings stamp set.
Which one is your favorite? Would you like to see a video tutorial for any of these? Thanks!

Gosh those flowers are retro! They take me right back to the “flower power” days of the late 60’s/ early 70’s when flowers were “groovy”!!!! Those were the flowers that went along with the saying “flower power”!!!! Flash from the past. Spellbinders nailed that design!!! I like the way you used just a few flowers under the bike to ground the object. My favorites (can’t pick just one!) are the bike card, the heart card (I really like all the elements and how they go so nicely together) and the blessings card. I like how you have some negative die cut spaces mixed in with clouds popping up. Adds a lot of interest to the card. Thanks so much for sharing, Yana. I really like the idea of die cutting fun foam for dimension. Maybe a video on that? Did you get a clean cut using the bike die and fun foam? I sometimes have trouble with the fun foam not cutting completely or well especially with more intricate dies.
A lot of very lovely cards Yana, love the colors too. I think my favorite is the bicycle one, The added flowers and ink blending really “kick things up a notch” – beautiful 🙂
I love the one with the feathers
Yana, this is a great collection of cards to showcase the spellbinders dies. . .I’m already adding to my wish list! Thanks for sharing.
Your cards are beautiful. So creative Yana. I love the thought and so much detail and brilliant backgrounds. You inspire me. Thank you.
The heart and the bicycle bards are my favorites! I always enjoy tutorials done by you. I’m pretty sure I need those heart dies…. *wink*
Love them all but I am esp. fond of the bicycle, feathers and cloud cards. A video of any one of them would be nice!
I just love your card designs, Yana! My favourites from this group are the “You Are My Everything” card, and the “So Very Blessed” card with the sun peeking through the clouds. I would just love to see videos of those 2 cards!
I think all of your cards are very very nice but the heart card is probably my favorite, then the feathers, then the flowers, then the trophy, then… 😉 I really like them all.
Very creative!!
Love each and every card!
What a fabulous collection of and so much creativity in this post!! I’m thinking my favourites are the bike and the so very blessed cards. I love the first one because of how you blended the colour on the bike in a gradient and then tied the whole card together with the gradient yellow flowers. The next is a favourite because of those beautiful clouds!! Love how you used the negative die cut. Love love love it!!! It just adds so much depth. Thanks for providing an amazing showcase of some fabulous dies from Spellbinders. My wishlist has just gotten longer!
Can’t pick – they are all fantastic!!! :o)
I love the color combinations on all of them. The bicycle and cloud cards are my favorite. In fact, I immediately ordered the dies!! Thanks for the inspiration.
Whoa!!! So many amazing cards!!! They’re so stylish and beautiful and it astonishes me that they are made using one die set.
These cards really show how we can use dies in many ways. Bravo!
They are all great, but I really like the bike card and the cloud and sun card
